The Library Of Congress preserves and provides access to the nation’s cultural artifacts, materials and content including digital materials and websites. The LOC Web Archives Collections are thematic web and event-based archives on selected topics. The LOC Digital Collections & Services include print, pictorial and audio-visual collections and other digital services.
The LOC Office of Strategic Initiatives created a Web Archiving Team to manage at-risk digital content and build the technical infrastructure for archiving this content. The LOC and its international partners are working together to preserve digital materials and web content for future generations.
The Library Of Congress and the national libraries of Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, the British Library (UK), and the Internet Archive (USA) created the International Internet Preservation Consortium. The IIPC collects a rich body of Internet content from around the world and develops standardized tools and techniques necessary to build international archives.
